If you want to fine-tune your skills, you will find below a good number of exercises, courtesy of Brussels Subbuteo Club. Originally in Belgian (hahaha) and translated by yours truly in english.

To be able to perform the drills described below, you must wax the ten players of your team and have 5 balls available. You must also have an Astropitch (or similar pitch) with two goals. Each exercise must be practiced during approximately 15 minutes. In order for the table soccer training to be effective, it is necessary to master one exercise before going on to the next.

EXERCISES WITHOUT THE BALL

EXERCISE 1

Lay out your 10 players on the halfway line and make them slide one after the other so that they all stop on the shooting line of either side. Redo the exercise for the players that did not stop on the shooting line, this until all 10 players are on the shooting line. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on one side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 2

Same exercise as exercise 1 but this time, your players must stop on the 18-yard line (edge of the penalty area parallel to the goal line). Redo the exercise for the players that did not stop on the 18-yard line, this until all 10 players are on the 18-yard line. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on one side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 3

Your 10 players are placed at random in the penalty area and you must make them slide so that they stop inside the kick-off circle, without any of them touching the circle line or each other. Redo the exercise for the players that did not stop inside the kick-off circle, this until all 10 players are inside the kick-off circle. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on one side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 4

Same exercise as exercise 3 but this time, your 10 players are placed on one shooting line. Redo the exercise for the players that did not stop inside the kick-off circle, this until all 10 players are inside the kick-off circle. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on one side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 5

Same exercise as exercise 3 but this time, your 10 players are placed on the 18-yard line (edge of the penalty area parallel to the goal line). Redo the exercise for the players that did not stop inside the kick-off circle, this until all 10 players are inside the kick-off circle. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on one side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 6

Your 10 players are placed on one shooting line and you must make them slide so that they stop on the other shooting line (other side of the pitch). Redo the exercise for the players that did not stop on the other shooting line, this until all 10 players are on the other shooting line. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on one side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISES WITH THE BALL

EXERCISE 7

Lay out the 5 balls on the part of the halfway line that is inside the kick-off circle and position a player behind each ball (the player must touch the ball). Flick the player so that the ball stops inside the penalty area without touching the lines (that define it). Redo the exercise for the balls that did not stop inside the penalty area. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on a side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 8

Same exercise as exercise 7 but this time, the balls must stop in the goal-keeper area, without touching the lines (that define it). Redo the exercise for the balls that did not stop inside the penalty area. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on a side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 9

Same exercise as exercise 7 but this time, each player is placed 1 cm (about width of medium finger) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 10

Same exercise as exercise 7 but this time, each player is placed 5 cm (about 2 inches) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 11

Same exercise as exercise 7 but this time, each player is placed 10 cm (about 4 inches) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 12

Same exercise as exercise 8 but this time, each player is placed 1 cm (about width of medium finger) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 13

Same exercise as exercise 8 but this time, each player is placed 5 cm (about 2 inches) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 14

Same exercise as exercise 8 but this time, each player is placed 10 cm (about 4 inches) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 15

Lay out the 5 balls on one shooting zone and position a player behind each ball (the player must touch the ball). Flick the player so that the ball stops inside the kick-off circle without touching the circle lines or a ball that is already there. Redo the exercise for the balls that did not stop inside the kick-off circle. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on a side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 16

Same exercise as exercise 15 but this time, each player is placed 1 cm (about width of medium finger) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 17

Same exercise as exercise 15 but this time, each player is placed 5 cm (about 2 inches) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 18

Same exercise as exercise 15 but this time, each player is placed 10 cm (about 4 inches) away from the ball.

EXERCISE 19

Lay out the 5 balls on the halfway line and position 5 of your players on one shooting line. Flick the player so that it barely touches the ball (ball barely moves upon contact). Redo the exercise for any player that failed to barely touch the ball. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on a side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 20

Same exercise as exercise 19, but this time postion the players where the balls were and vice-versa.

EXERCISE 21

Same exercise as exercise 19, but this time lay out the balls on one shooting line, the players being positioned on the other shooting line.

SHOOTING PRACTICE

EXERCISE 22

Lay out the 5 balls on the halfway line and position one of your players behind each ball. Flick each player so that the ball stops in the shooting zone and flick the same player again to score. Redo the exercise for any player that failed either flick. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on a side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 23

Same exercise as exercise 22 but this time, the balls are positioned on the other shooting line.

EXERCISE 24

Repeat exercises 22 and 23 placing a 3cm (a tad more than 1 inch) high object at the edge of the goal-keeper area.

EXERCISE 25

Lay out the 5 balls at random in the shooting zone and position 5 of your players on the halfway line. Flick each player so that it makes contact with the ball and then flick to score. Do not forget to position the 3cm high wall at the edge of the goal-keeper area. Redo the exercise for any player that failed either flick. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on a side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.

EXERCISE 26

Same exercise as exercise 25 but this time, your players are positioned on the other shooting line.

EXERCISE 27

Shooting exercise from the 5 shootout positions (as described in the rules). Do not forget to position the 3cm high wall at the edge of the goal-keeper area. Redo the exercise for any player that failed to score. Repeat this 6 times, 3 times on a side of the pitch and 3 times on the other.
